Turnstile Systems

SENKRON designs a wide range of products under the generic name of “turnstile systems”, an electronic security system and an indispensable part of passage check systems, intended to carry out multiple purposes depending on the operating scenario provided by the customer and the risk analysis carried out by our engineers, and delivers turnkey solutions with an optimum equipment configuration.

There are several types of products in the category of turnstile systems from among which one can make a choice according to the type of the envisaged solutions and entry/exit disciplines.

Flow control barriers: Flow control barriers are physical barriers, turnstiles, motor or manual doors and modular balustrades intended to direct customers and to check entries. Motor doors open automatically by means of photocells or by control and get closed after a predetermined period of time. Also available is a different manual model used in two directions. This door is added to the turnstile and can be open to passage or locked. It is used for cargos, disabled people or VIPs.

Tripod turnstiles: Turnstiles called “tripods” are passage check devices that permit an easy access and provide a low security profile. They are easy to install and have low operating and maintenance costs. The mechanism of the turnstile is controlled electromechanically. It is possible to integrate a card-reading passage system into the turnstile. The turnstile has folding arms when it is in the state of FAILSAFE (anti-panic) or when a fire alarm has gone off and/or when a card-reading passage check system passes to a FAILSAFE state. An electromechanical or LCD counter permits to record statistical entry/exit data.

Some turnstile models are equipped with lids sensitive to pressure or with infrared barrier sensors to give an alarm message to the entry check system in the event of unauthorized passage over or under the arm of the turnstile or by climbing over the turnstile.

Among the fields of use of this type of turnstile are offices, reception areas, businesses, subway stations and sport and recreation facilities with a low level of human circulation.

Motor passage: To ensure both a fast circulation of people and maximum security, motor passages use a detection system sensitive to people’s movement in the passage and prevent unauthorized passages and don’t let two people pass with the same access signal. These systems operate with motor sliding boards and are suitable for HANDS FREE operation and/or for operation with a card reader. They can operate single- or bi-directionally. They have a large and uniform transit capacity that ensures a high intensity flow of persons.

The field of use includes banks, businesses, plants and public transport stations, which have high intensity entry/exit flows of people.

Full-height turnstiles:  They are intended to ensure a problem-free passage in businesses without surveillance. This type of turnstile let people pass only one by one. They have unidirectional or bi-directional, mechanical or electric models, suitable for internal or external use, painted or of stainless steel.

Their field of use includes stadiums, sport and recreation facilities, airports and parking lots of businesses, which may have a low or high intensity flow of people.

High security full-height booth: They are used at the entries of facilities or at high-security sections. Their tube passages are specially manufactured. They allow only people who have been designated in advance to pass.

These booths are manufactured with a body of reinforced aluminum composites or stainless steel and with bulletproof glasses. They are equipped with two sliding doors.

Depending on the requirement of the customer and the security level of the place, after entering in the tube, the person swipes his card in the reading device. The metal detector door in the tube carries out a scanning against weapons. The digital cameras or biometric readers verify the identity of the person consulting the database. At the same time, a pressure scale installed in the floor weighs the person and compare the weight, depending on the option selected, with the data received at other security systems and passage check systems and let the person enter the building only after the confirmation of the data.

Its field of use includes high security places such as entries and exits of maximum security areas, data processing centers, archives and banks’ vaults, credit card printing and storing facilities, research and development centers, energy production facilities’ control rooms, military facilities and archives, airport flight control centers.
