This consists of “Video Capture” cards manufactured with 4, 8, 16 or 32 channels. Each camera has both high and low recording qualities. The resolution for the low quality image is 352 x 288 and that for the high resolution is 704 x 576. The cards have the triplex feature and permit recording, playback of recorded videos and video transmission. Depending on the installation conditions of the site, videos can be viewed form the system by connecting from a remote location with a valid user name and password.
The capture cards, using an advanced compression technology, are capable of detecting motions and other forms of alarms. These alarms, when triggered can make the DVR to send one shot of alarm video to an email address or to a remote PC. It can also be used to deactivate or activate other integrated systems. Depending on the settings of the DVR and its accessories, warning messages can be sent through the connected telephone line.

These are industrial-based professional recording devices with triplex feature manufactured with 4, 8 or 16 channels with a low resolution of 352x288 and a high resolution of 704x576 for each camera. These DVRs are able to attain a recording speed of up to 480. The lower recording speed DVRs, record at an overall speed of 50 fps. The internal storage capacity of the DVR is normally 250Gb. This can be increased to 1.6 Terabytes. External raid systems are used to provide storage capacities of 10 terabytes and over.
This system is ideal for corporate organizations that attach great importance to digital video recordings.
As the operating systems of these devices are universal, they can easily be used by everyone and permit an easy upgrading to new software versions. It is possible to add modules and more sophisticated features to the devices by firmware upgrades. Systems like POS, ATMs, face recognition, car plate recognition and left package detection (terrorism) systems can be integrated with the DVR by firmware upgrade.
It is possible to use the remote monitoring software to connect to several DVRs from different locations through network connections. Selected videos from these DVRs can be viewed on the remote monitoring software at the same time by using split screen. 16 or 32 videos can be viewed on the software at the same time and this depends on the size of the split screen selected. Several users with valid user name and password can connect to the same DVR simultaneously. The operations performed on the DVR by connected users are totally independent.
DVRs from this class normally have multiple video outputs namely; VGA and composite video output. It is possible to program the camera to be displayed on the spot monitor.
Due to the flexibility of the system, it is possible view both live and playback videos on the same screen. It is also possible to view playback images of the same camera at different times.
The stored videos are synchronized in such a way that, it possible to playback videos from all the cameras at the same time on the same screen. It is also possible to retrieve all of the camera images of the same date and time on a single search window.
It is possible to connect a control keyboard to the device. It is also possible to control the PTZ cameras from the keyboard or on the network without a computer.
These professional devices are capable of transmitting alarm images to remote locations through the network. They can also pop up alarm images on the screen.
